Our privacy promise
SimplyFile Pro is designed to help you work with files locally. We do not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information through the app. We do not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party data-collection SDKs.
Information the app accesses
When you choose a folder or file, macOS grants SimplyFile Pro access to that location. The app uses that access to display names, folders, previews, file types, sizes, dates, and other metadata needed for file-management features.
SimplyFile Pro does not upload your file contents, file names, paths, or metadata to a server. File operations you request—such as copying, moving, renaming, duplicating, or deleting—are performed on your Mac.
Favorites and Project Spaces
Favorites, Project Spaces, navigation state, and selected preferences are stored locally on your Mac using the app’s local storage. To preserve access to locations between launches, the app stores macOS security-scoped bookmark data locally. This data is not transmitted to us.
If a folder is moved, renamed, disconnected, or its permission changes, macOS may require you to select it again.
Network locations
If you choose Connect to Server, you provide an address and SimplyFile Pro asks macOS to open that address using the system’s normal network and file-sharing services. This is initiated by you. SimplyFile Pro does not proxy, monitor, or upload the contents of network locations.
Previews and embedded system components
Some previews use macOS system frameworks, including Quick Look and WebKit, to render local file content. These previews are generated on your Mac. SimplyFile Pro does not use them to send your content to us.
Purchases and accounts
SimplyFile Pro does not require an account and does not include subscriptions or in-app purchases. The purchase and download of the app are handled by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
Children’s privacy
SimplyFile Pro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its privacy practices change. The effective date above will identify the latest version. Continued use of SimplyFile Pro after an update means the updated policy applies.
